Wait out the storm

God's Process to Patience:

Get a vision

Our Process to Patience:

Search for it

Get it

There is a difference between our patience and God's patience. When we want something God wants us to wait for His timing. When it just takes too long we tend to become impatient and try to have it our way. If God showed His plans for us we would probably try to find a quicker way to get there. The reason we wait is because of the promises God has for us. The promise is usually discovered in the process. The process always requires patience.

It is okay to ask God for patience. Trust me, I have... MANY times. Anything that has a value takes a process. God does not set time limits for things.

In the book of Samuel. Saul was king and Samuel gave instructions to Saul. Saul was defeating every battle, God was with him. Unfortunately, since Saul was impatient he lost everything that God was going to give to him.

1 Samuel 10:8: : Samuel's Instructions for Saul

8 “Go down ahead of me to Gilgal. I will surely come down to you to sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, but you must wait seven days until I come to you and tell you what you are to do.”

1 Samuel 13: 8-15: Saul was impatient

8 He waited seven days, the time appointed by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattering from him. 9 So Saul said, “Bring the burnt offering here to me, and the peace offerings.” And he offered the burnt offering.10 As soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came. And Saul went out to meet him and greet him. 11 Samuel said, “What have you done?” And Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattering from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines had mustered at Michmash, 12 I said, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the Lord.’ So I forced myself, and offered the burnt offering.” 13 And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the Lord your God, with which he commanded you. For then the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince[a] over his people because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.” 15 And Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal. The rest of the people went up after Saul to meet the army; they went up from Gilgal[b] to Gibeah of Benjamin.

And Saul numbered the people who were present with him, about six hundred men.

If you try to come up with your own solution for your situation do not be surprised if it backfires. With God, everything is a process. Just like when you became a Christ Follower. It took a process. You had to build a relationship with Christ. It did not just happen overnight. It took time.

Think about when David was anointed, King. It took 15 years until he was finally king. It took a process.

Think about Noah, he was instructed to build a boat and it didn't rain for 50 years.

What about Jesus? Jesus knew he was the SON OF GOD... The SON OF GOD.... and Jesus was not healing until he was 30 years old. In the meantime, he was a carpenter.

God knows your gifts. It is just not time to use them yet.

The best part of this process is that there will be some obstacles or some person that will work in your life that will cause us to be patient. God always sends us an opportunity.

In Hebrews 6:12, It's perfectly described how patience works.

12" We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."

If you have faith and patience, you will inherit what is promised.

Instead of asking God why something didn't work out or why am I here, build endurance. Are you willing to wait on God?

God did not forget about you just because the process is taking time. Let the process be an opportunity to work patience into your life. There are some situations you do not need to compete for. Just have to wait on it.

We wait because of the promise God has for us. While you are waiting, be a servant to God. Are you willing to live serving God even when you do not have what you are searching for? That thing you are waiting for all depends on you. You can either serve the Lord or your meantime all of a sudden gets longer for you.

This past month I have been battling an emotional storm. I am in a new season in my life that I wish was not in but here I am. Despite the storm I am in; I know God's grace still remains and I am giving God control over my situation.

Trust him and be patient.

xx,

Diana
