Time Ticks

It's been a few months since I have taken time to write anything. I have been occupied with life responsibilities which could excuse my why's. Yet, there should not be excuses with time. I have been focusing the majority of my time on building my business which has been nothing but a dream but I lost sight of one dream I had always wanted to accomplish, being a writer.

Time is precious.

I am not saying working on my business is a bad thing. I have just lost sight of the things that have brought me joy. Writing takes time, energy, and a lot of thought. I can not just slap a bunch of words down, share a verse and consider that "good writing." I have become accustomed to a routine that has canceled out the want to write.

And maybe for you, you've been doing the same thing. Focusing your time on worldly responsibilities when you have not been going after the desires of your heart.

I am a firm believer in people going after their dreams.

There is time for anything if you take the time for it. Time ticks faster than you know it. Pushing back days, weeks, months can turn into years. Trust me, do you know how many times I have written down in my calendar to "write" within the last few months.

Just recently, I shared with a friend of mine my hope and dreams. Everything I mentioned was about Stamped by Sis (my business). I never once said, "one day I want to be an author." I just cared more about my business, again, which is not a bad thing because I LOVE my business. But, I allowed myself to put my writing passion on the back burner.

For me, writing brings out my creative side. Writing is what encouraged me to start SBS! All the products in my shop are inspired through words and messages because of my love for writing.

Ephesians 5:14-16 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil..

If you need encouragement about how we should use time, I highly encourage you to read Ephesians.

Take advantage of the opportunity of time. When you have slower days, spend time doing the things you wish you had time for on busy days.

Some encouragement for you today:

Call someone who you have not spoken to in a while.

Start that business.

Run that marathon.

Ask that girl out.

Write that book.

Go back to school.

Only you know what's been ticking by. Do not let another second go by without making the time.

xo,

D

It's good to be back.
