Have you ever caught yourself on pause? In other words, your life is on hold.
In a way, our life is as if we are watching a movie. You’ll have reasons to press pause, fast forward, rewind or press play.
If you catch yourself always thinking of your past mistakes or your past is constantly haunting you. You are on REWIND.
If you are someone who is constantly dreaming, thinking ahead or you just overthink. You are on FAST FORWARD.
If you are waiting for something to happen, you feel as if you are stuck or your life just seems like it’s going in a different direction. You are on PAUSE.
The best button to press is PLAY. You are actually present. You decided to trust life. You decided to let God take control.
What caused you to be on rewind? Have you been reminded of your mistakes? Those who are on rewind may feel like, "What’s done is done" or "There is nothing I can do to change my past." That is true. But... your past doesn't define you. The best thing you can do is forgive yourself.
Maybe you have to forgive someone in order for you to press play. Maybe you have to apologize to someone for what you did to them in the past. Making mistakes does not make you broken. It makes you human.
You are not the same person you were 10 years ago. People change. You learn. You grow. You go through experiences. You learn lessons, good or bad. Forget what’s behind you. Your best days are in front of you.
Why are you fast forwarding? Just take a deep breath. I’ve caught myself on fast forward a few times. I dreamed too big and sometimes get ahead of myself. We all want to know what the future holds but it’s so important to remain still. Have you ever heard that saying, “Be happy for this moment, for this moment is life.”
The famous Dr. Suess quote:
“Sometimes you’ll never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
We need to realize that God wants us to be still. Life get’s busy and sometimes we feel as life is speeding by but God wants us to be present. Trust in his timing. Don’t look into the future because you’ll miss all the little things in life. You will not value those precious moments because you are looking ahead.
What causes us to be paused? You may think that there is nothing out there for you. You may just have no idea where you are headed. Your purpose seems so distant or it seems as if your purpose is non existent.
I am “paused”…
I am living day by day. Pressing pause is basically taking life day by day… you are just hoping that someone or something is going to make you want to press play.
A while ago at church we had a pastor from another church come preach and he said something that has stuck with me, “The rest of you life will be the best of your life.”
I feel like we take life for granted sometimes. We let ourselves be stuck on “pause” because of certain situations that has occurred in our life. Let go of what was and live on PLAY.
Now live life the way God wants you to. No back tracking. No “what if” moments. No I can’t or I give up. No regrets. No overthinking. No “ill wait for tomorrow.” No “it’s just not the right time.” No “it’s not meant to be.”
Let’s press play together…
