Dealing with Temptation

"19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God"

GALATIANS 5: 19-21

Question of the day: Are you going to let SIN control you or the SPIRIT control you?

We all have those certain situations that have indented something in our hearts. My major moment was the day I turned to Christ. I was lost for a while but then I found my way back to Him. It made me think, God is so good that He will let you go ahead and try it your way. He knows you will fail. He also knows that you would come right back to Him. He is always waiting for His children to come back home. Maybe you do not see it now. But, you will and hopefully the enemies temptation wears off. You will be back where you are supposed to be. I guess we just have to go through those situations for us to realize it was not part of God's will but God's plan for us.

In Deuteronomy 30:19 it says; "I am now GIVING you a choice between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life."

Let's review this verse. He is GIVING us a choice. You either CHOOSE death (sin) or you CHOOSE life (spirit). BUT... God gave us the answer, He says, CHOOSE LIFE.

You choose to be sinful or spiritual.

You decide if it is worth the fight.

You decide if it is worth another broken heart.

You decide who you choose to be with.

You decide if it is worth the expense.

You decide your words.

You decide your actions.

You decide.

His plan for us is already set. We either follow it or get distracted by it and see that desire is a sinful way of thinking that it is our destiny.

We are chasing after dreams that are unrealistic to God's plan for us. Have you ever looked around at what you see and ask Him, Is this my destiny or is this just an unrealistic fantasy? What He has planned for you is greater than any desire you may have. Start investing in what God has already given you.

We all have areas in our life that are dark. Maybe it's your finances, your relationships or even your relationship with God. Do you ever feel like those areas will never see a light of day? Maybe that's why you continue to live struggling but God say's, "Give and you shall receive." Maybe that's why you choose the wrong way of doing things because you think that you don't deserve nothing more but God say's, "come to me, I will give you a new heart." Maybe that's why you don't pray because you have pain and you can not deal with it and you don't think God's going to do anything for you but God say's, "I will give you strength, speak with me."

Choose HIM. Decide that you are not going to be the person that everyone thinks you are. Decide that you will change not only for yourself but also for the spiritual relationship you'll have with God. Don't let whatever feels right to you control you. Put it in the hands of God.

God is the LIGHT of your darkness. With him there will be no darkness.
