Bring what you have

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is found in John chapter 6. Jesus saw a crowd of people looking towards him and Jesus fed 5,000 people. However, Philip who was one of Jesus' disciples was not sure how 5,000 people would get fed because there was not enough food.

John 6:5-9:

5Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” 6He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.

7Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money

to feed them!”

8Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. 9“There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?”

This verse shows the doubt that Philip had. Many times don’t you feel like that? We allow doubt to control over God’s promises. Jesus took the bread from the young boy and said this is more than enough. This message conveys to bring what you have because God will use it. The young boy trusted God with what he had and God multiplied it.

Question: What can you offer to God?
