I don’t know who needs to hear this but I most definitely needed to take time to write this.

For some reason, the holidays feel like you have to be going fast pace in order to get everything done. Yet, we all have been looking forward to the holidays after the year we all had. So why rush it? Why be in a constant hurry to get things done and have a to-do list of 100 different things that need to be completed by the end of the week.

The holidays are a time for people’s spirit to be filled with joy and an abundance of love.

Year after year, I see the holidays cause stress for many (myself included).

Let’s take a step back and realize the reason for the season. Jesus.

Jesus would not want us to be overwhelmed with a season that is meant to bring hope.

Trust me, you’ll get it done. You are not “behind schedule.” That list will be shortened. Don’t over work yourself and cause chaos in a season of fulfillment.

Luke 10:38-42

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

This story symbolizes how if you are distracted by unnecessary tasks you’ll miss out on the real purpose for the season.
